قبائلی علاقوں میں چھ روزہ پولیو مہم شروع

                                                                                                                                                                                                                    پشاور (ٹی این این/انور شاہ اورکزئی ) فاٹا کے پانچ ایجنسیز اور ایف آر کوہاٹ میں چھ روزہ انسداد پولیو مہم شروع ہوچکا ہے  ۔مہم کا افتتاح سیکرٹری برائے سو شل سیکٹر وقار الحسن نے بروز پیر فاٹا سیکرٹریٹ میں کیا ۔اس موقع پر سیکرٹری ایڈمنسٹریشن کو ار ڈینیٹر ظہیر الاسلام بھی موجود تھے ۔چھ روز کے لئے فاٹا کی منتخب علاقوں میں شروع کی جانے والی اس مہم کے دوران پانچ سال تک کی عمر کے بچوں کو ویکسین او پی وی قطروں اور 23ماہ تک کی عمر کے بچوں کو آئی پی وی انجکشن کی صورت میں دئیے جارہے ہیں ۔مزکورہ مہم باجوڑ ،مہمند ،اورکزئی، کرم ،خیبر اور ایف آر کوہاٹ میں شروع ہوچکی ہے ۔جس میں 590919کے بچوں کو پولیو کے قطرے پلوائیں جائیں گے جبکہ 189094کو پولیو ویکسین انجکشن کی صورت میں دی جائے گی ۔اس مہم کے دوران کل 607 ٹیمیں مختلف علاقوں میں فرائض انجام دیں گی ۔جن میں 184فکسڈ ٹیمیں تعینات کی گئی ہے جبکہ 393 ٹیمیں دور دراز کے علاقوں میں بچوں کو ویکسین دیں گی ۔جبکہ 30موبائل ٹیمیں کے لئے مختص کی گئی ہیں ۔انسداد پولیو کی opvاور ipv مہم حال ہی میں جنوبی وزیر ستان ،ایف آرپشاور ،ایف آر بنوں ،تحصیل باڑہ اور جمرود کے ساتھ ساتھ خیبر ایجنسی میں مکمل کی گئی ۔پولیو کے خلاف پائی جانے والی رائے پر کافی حد تک قابو پالیا گیا ہے اور اب ایسے والدین کا تناسب ایک فیصد سے زیادہ نہیں رہ گیا جو اپنے بچوں کو پولیو کی ویکسین کروانے سے گریز کرتے ہیں ۔یہی وجہ ہے کہ 2015 کے دوران بچوں کی اکثریت کو پولیو کی ویکسین دی گئی ہیں ۔جس کی وجہ سے پولیو سے متاثرہ بچوں کے کیسز بھی تیزی سے کم ہوئے ہیں ۔یادرہے کہ 2015 کے دوران ابھی تک صرف 16 پولیو کے کیسز رپورٹ ہوئے ہیں جو گزشتہ سال کی نسبت سے کافی کم ہیں ۔جبکہ 179بچوں میں پولیو کا وائرس پایا گیا تھا ۔رواں سال شمالی وزیرستان سے ایک جنوبی وزیرستان سے دو ایف آر پشاور سے دو جبکہ خیبر ایجنسی سے کل گیارہ پولیو کیسز رپورٹ ہوئے

Six-day anti polio drive begins in selected tribal areas


PESHAWAR, 28 December: A special six-day anti polio drive got underway in five tribal districts and FR Kohat on Monday, health officials in the Fata secretariat said.
According to the officials, more than 590,000 children under the age of five years would be administered anti polio drops during the six-day drive in Khyber, Mohmand, Bajaur, Orakzai and Kurram Agencies and FR Kohat.
The officials informed that special anti-polio vaccines would be injected to children upto 23 months of age during the campaign.
Also, a three-day anti-polio drive is launched in Swabi district of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, officials of the health department said. The drive was postponed in the district due to security reasons.

PARACHINAR: Six-day anti-polio drive started in Fata and Frontier region (FR) on Monday. Responding to an alarming increase in the number of polio cases in Fata and Frontier region (FR), a huge effort to eradicate the crippling disease Fata secretariat, launched six days polio drive. According to coordinator of the Polio drive Zahirul Islam, 607 vaccination teams and 184 mobiles teams have been appointed for this purpose. In the course of the polio drive 590919 children will be administered the polio vaccine while 189094 children will given polio through injection. The campaign, which will continue for six days at Fata and FR a stretch, has been planned by Fata secretariat after the emergence of polio cases in the different area Fata and FR regions.

Thall Green win football tournament in Thall

SADDA, 27 December: Thall Green have won All Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Football Tournament in Kurram Agency.
The final match of the tournament between Thall Green and Naurang at Thall Sports Complex on Saturday remained tied 1-1 in the allotted time after which the match was decided through penalty kicks. Thall Green won the match by one goal in penalty shootout.
A large number of local people came to the sports complex to enjoy the match. Thirty-six teams took part in the tournament.

Kurram post attacked

2 militants killed as forces repulse attack on border checkpost


SADA, 26 December: Security forces have repulsed a militants’ attack on a checkpost near the Afghan border in Kurram Agency, official sources said.
“Militants carried out a subversive attack on Khar Dhand checkpost near the Pak-Afghan border on the night between Friday and Saturday but it was valiantly repulsed by the forces,” the sources said.
The sources further informed that two attackers were killed and five others injured in the retaliatory firing by the forces.
Search operation was carried out in the area after the attack.

Six laborers abducted in Kurram

SADA, 24 December: As many six laborers who were busy in constructing a road in Dumbaki area of Kurram Agency, have been abducted by unknown militants, official sources said here Thursday.
The sources further informed that the militants also put on fire two tractor-trolleys in which the laborers were carrying sands and other materials.
The local authorities conducted a search operation in the area after the incident, however, no arrest was made till the filling of the report.

Governor hands over Rs 12m to heirs of Parachinar blast

PARACHINAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Sardar Mahtab Ahmed Khan Tuesday visited Parachinar, Kurram Agency and went to the agency headquarter hospital Parachinar, where he inquired about the health of the injured of Parachinar blast. He directed the relevant administration to ensure the best medical treatment to the victims of Parachniar blast. He asked the administration those arrangements to be made to shift the injured of blast to Peshawar if needed. Governor handed over the compensation amount of worth Rs. 12 million to the heirs of the martyrs of blast. He also handed over additionally 1 million to the heirs of the two martyrs and injured of the same family and announced a job for them. Governor said that the fight against terrorism is at the final stage adding that war against terrorism will continue till the elimination of last terrorist. He expressed heartfelt sympathies with the members of the bereaved families and injured and said such attacks could not deter the national resolve to eliminate the wave of militancy and menace of terrorism. He said that those who involved in heinous crimes and play with the innocent lives deserve no leniency and will be brought to the court of Law. He has also wished early recovery of the injured
On this occasion the Governor without protocol and security met with the heirs of the martyrs, victims of blast and others and inquired about the medical facilities provided to them. He also visited the site of the blast where a detailed briefing was also given to the governor regarding the rescue operation and relief activities immediately after the blast took place.
While addressing the grand jirga of tribal elders and heirs of the martyrs of parachinar blast at agency headquarter parachinar, Kurram Agency during his visit to the, the governor has said that the fight and war against wave of militancy and terrorism is at the final stage and whole the nation stand united with our security forces to uproot the terrorism throughout the country once and for all. He strongly condemned the brutal attack and expressed his condolence over the incident that resulted in to loss of innocent lives. He also showed his grief and sorrow and expressed condolence on the tragic incident on behalf of President, Prime Minister and the whole nation. On this occasion he also prayed for the eternal peace of departed souls and courage to the bereaved families to bear the irreparable loss with equanimity. While turning the brutal act of terror as cowardly act the governor has said that the fight against terrorism is at the final stage adding that war against terrorism will continue till the elimination of last terrorist. While paying tribute to the sacrifices of tribesmen He said such cowardly acts of terrorism could not deter the resolve of the nation against terrorism.
He said with the sacrifices of our security forces and tribesmen the peace has restored and we have combat the terrorism adding that the terrorist now targeting the innocent people. Governor said the dignified repatriation of TDPs has been started and no stone would be left to ensure the provision of basic facilities to the TDPs. He stated that a comprehensive rehabilitation and reconstruction program will soon be initiated in the wake of the successful return of displaced persons in order to bring the tribal people into mainstream. Governor said whole the nation stand united with the security forces and committed to root out the wave of terrorism throughout the country once and for all. Governor said that the time has come for the people of FATA to re-coup their energies; ensure unity and cohesion in their ranks and work for development of their respective areas as well as for security, stability and prosperity of the country. He expressed the confidence that they would spare no effort for betterment of the country too and to ensure better future for them as well. Earlier, the commandant Kurram Malaysia, Col. Umer Malik, Political agent Kurram agency, amjad ali khan and the tribal elders welcomed the governor on his arrival to the agency. Smart contingent of FC troops also presented guard of honour to the governor.

Kurram tribesmen complain of being deprived of compensation amount

SADA, 06 December: Residents of the central Kurram Agency who have recently been sent back to their hometown complained that they had not been given the compensation amount as promised by the government.
“The FDMA officials pledged to pay Rs.350,000/- as compensation for the damaged houses and Rs.25,000/- as travel expenses to all the 19406 IDP families upon their return to their respective hometowns, but to no avail,” said Abdullah Khaliq, a dejected tribesman.
He said only 10 percent of the IDPs had been given the compensation amount while the rest of them were still deprived.
“At the time of our return, the FDMA officials gave us Rs.700/- only. We were told that the remaining amount will be given to us after returning to our homes, but till date, not a single penny has been given to us,” remarked another tirbesman.

Two-day disaster management exhibition concludes

PESHAWAR, 03 December: The two-day natural disaster management exhibition organized by the Center for Disaster Preparedness and Management (CDPM) University of Peshawar, concludes here on Thursday.
A number of national and international relief organizations and government disaster management bodies have set up their stalls in the exhibition.
Beside students of the university, a large number of people turned up at the event and took keen interest in the stalls.
Appreciating the holding of the exhibition students said it was a good step which provided them an opportunity to learn about natural disasters and the measures, through which damages could be mitigated.

Shaheen Eleven win cricket tournament in Kurram

SADDA, 30 November: Shaheen Eleven have won the Eidul Azha Cricket Tournament in Central Kurram Agency.
In the final match of the tournament played at Marghan cricket ground on Monday, Kotki cricket team batted first and scored 119 runs in the allotted 12 overs. Shaheen Eleven surpassed the target with the loss of four wickets and won the tournament.
Eighty teams from Central Kurram Agency participated in the tournament and the winning team was given the prize of a motorcycle.

Tribal journalists hold rally, demand security


PESHAWAR, 01 December: Journalists from the tribal areas rallied here on Tuesday demanding protection for them.
The rally, which was attended by a large number of tribal journalists, marched from Peshawar Press Club to Governor House. Media persons from the settled districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa including Peshawar also participated in the rally.
Speaking on the occasion officer bearers of the journalists’ association said that quite a few of their colleagues were killed while performing duties in the tribal areas while many others were given threats from different sides.
They also demanded financial assistance to the families of their slain colleagues who were killed in the line of duty.
“Working in tribal areas for us has been made impossible as we cannot go there for reporting due to insecurity. We demand from the government to provide us protection. And at the same time, we also appeal to national and international bodies of media persons to raise their voice for our protection,” remarked a tribal journalist while talking to TNN.
