Political administration of Kurram Agency on Thursday distributed Rs37.7 million among families of the Levies and Khasadar force who were killed and injured in acts of terrorism.

In this regard a ceremony was organised in Parachinar where Assistant Political Agent Shahid Ali Khan awarded Rs3 million to each family of 13 officials who lost their lives in terrorism related incidents.

While families of 7 injured people were also given Rs150,000 each.

On this occasion, Shahid Ali Khan told media that more than Rs1 billion had been distributed among those affected by terrorism and natural disaster over the last seven years.

The families of the martyred and injured ones thanked the political administration for acknowledging sacrifices of their loved ones and said more such affectees would also be compensated.

“My brother died in 2015 and now the government has paid compensation to us. I am thankful to the government for recognising the sacrifice of my brother. We will continue to offer sacrifices four our country,” the brother of a martyred soldier said.

The son of a martyred Levies official also thanked the government for honouring his father.

“My father died in 2014. I am thankful to the government for honouring our family,” he said.
