Death Toll Mounts To 14 In Passenger Van Blast In Kurram Agency

PARACHINAR, 15 April: As many as 14 people including four children and four women were killed and 10 others sustained injuries in landmine blast targeting a passenger van in Gudar area of Kurram Agency on Tuesday.

Soon after the explosion, the injured and dead bodies were shifted to Parachinar Hospital and Civil Hospital Sadda.
Meanwhile, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that nine critically injured were shifted to Peshawar via Army Special MI-17 Helicopter. Sources said that four of the injured also succumbed to injuries in hospital taking the death toll to 14.
Meanwhile, the political administration said that security was put on high alert in the area and search operation was launched. The administration also added that the blast would not affect the population census exercise in the area and vowed that the census exercise would continue without any hindrance in the area.
President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif have strongly condemned the attack and expressed deep grief over the loss of precious lives and prayed for the blessing of departed souls.
