Marijuana Crops Worth Rs10 Million Set On Fire In Kurram

SADDA, 30 December: The political administration of Kurram Agency has set fire to marijuana crops worth Rs10 million in Central Kurram Agency.

The administration spokesman Shahid Malik told TNN that the new Tehsildar had ordered removal of marijuana crops in Masozai, Jogi, Gowaza, Jarr, Dar, Taro and Dargi areas. He said no resistance was offered by the tribesmen while the marijuana crops were set on fire. The tehsildar has also warned the tribesmen of strict action if the marijuana crops were cultivated in the area again.

A local resident, Sajid Ali, told TNN that he is very happy over this step of the administration. He said the administration should continue such actions for complete elimination of narcotics from the area and save the future of the young generation.

“The political administration is doing a tremendous job to discourage narcotics use in Kurram. The local people will fully support such moves of the administration and will stand shoulder to shoulder with them. Narcotics use impacts health and education and is the main cause of criminal activities in our area,” he said.

“پوليټېکل انتظاميئے ډيره زبردسته کاروائي ئي کړي ده، داسې خه کارونه چې کوي نو مونږ به ئي ډېر حوصله افزائي کوو، مونږ به د دوي ډير شکر ګزار يو، ځکه چې دې فصلونو له وجې معاشره خرابيږي، دا په تعليم او صحت هم متاثره کېږي، دې له وجې غلاګانئ کيږې او دې له وجې قتلونه هم کيږي”
