Exhibition of women’s handmade products arranged in Peshawar University
PESHAWAR, 16 March: An exhibition of handmade products of women from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) was organised in the University of Peshawar (UoP) on Wednesday.
The purpose of the exhibition was to bring forward the creative work of women from KP and FATA and encourage them. Anisa Shah, chief organiser of the event, said the handmade clothes, jewellery, bangles, decoration pieces, footwear and other items have been put on display at 15 stalls.
“The trend of purchasing handicrafts is diminishing gradually. The purpose of arranging this event is establish contacts between buyers and sellers of these products,” she told TNN.
A large number of people visited the exhibition and took keen interest in it. They said more such exhibitions should be arranged to encourage women to promote their products.
